Man City 3-1 Burnley: Player ratings as Alvarez brace keeps pressure on Liverpool

Image
Manchester City kept the pressure on Liverpool in the developing Premier League title race with a comfortable win over Burnley at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night. It was the first time that City legend Vincent Kompany, having seen his Clarets lose the reverse fixture back in August, had taken a team to his former stomping ground. But any chance of a shock result was squashed in the first half alone when Julian Alvarez, doing the Business in Erling Haaland’s absence from the start – although the Norwegian did make his eagerly awaited return from the bench, scored twice in quick succession inside the opening 22 minutes. Rodri put the icing on the cake almost immediately after half-time, with Ameen Al Dakhil pulling one back in stoppage to at least tarnish the champions’ clean sheet. How the game unfolded The hosts dominated proceedings from the first moments, although it was a slow start from them in terms of chance creation, taking time to feel their way around Burnley and sus ou

NBA Player Props Today - Best Jayson Tatum Prop | Pickswise

Following a jam-packed, 12- Game NBA slate on Monday night we get the come down of 6 Game s on Tuesday. Several teams are on a back-to-back, including New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, Washington Wizards, Philadelphia 76ers, Utah Jazz, Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers. That is 50% of the teams! Point being, there will be some obvious “injuries” that keep big names out tonight — but that’s just more opportunity for us in the player prop market. Here is my favorite NBA player prop bet of the evening, and make sure you also read our  NBA picks for tonight’s biggest matchups. Jayson Tatum, SG, BOS, Over 29.5 points (-115) Line available at Bet365 at time of publishing When you see a slate this ugly, you try not to get cute. That’s what I’m doing tonight with Tatum. He’s 3 for 3 against this line playing the Pacers this season (including a 51-point blowout). He is averaging 31 ppg on 6 back-to-backs this season and the Pacers are simply not the best to stop him defensiv

Rice’s record was 151 receptions, with 2,245 yards and 22 touchdowns. Kelce came into the game needing seven catches to set the record and picked up his 152nd postseason reception with an eight yard pick up from Mahomes in the first half against the Ravens. In total he needed just three drives, picking up 66 yards and scoring the Chiefs first touchdown. Kelce’s race to the record Kelce set the new record in just his 21st playoff game . Rice required 29 games with three different teams (49ers, Raiders and Seahawks). Xavi Hernández announces he will step down as Barcelona head coach at the end of the season

Image
Following Barcelona’s defeat at home to Villarreal on Sunday, Barcelona head coach Xavi Hernández has revealed he will step down from his position at the end of the season. Barcelona’s collapse after good start Having begun the 2023-24 campaign in fine fashion, the reigning LaLiga champions have tailed off badly in recent months and have fallen 10 points adrift of Clásico rivals Real Madrid at the top of the table. In the last few weeks, Barça suffered a 4-1 Spanish Super Cup final thrashing to Los Blancos and were eliminated from the Copa del Rey in the quarter-finals by Athletic Club on Wednesday, although they do have a Champions League Round-of-16 tie against Napoli on the horizon. Sevilla enter the race for Gio Reyna, Nottingham Forest and Marseille interested

Image
Premier League side Nottingham Forest were, over the last few hours, very close to securing the loan of Giovanni Reyna , the Borussia Dortmund playmaker who looks set to depart the Bundesliga this winter in search of more minutes on the pitch. However, things got complicated as Sevilla joined the race and threatened to put a spanner in the English club’s plan. The main sticking point for Forest is that the American player, who is just 21-years-old and with a huge. future ahead of him, wants to play in LaLiga rather than go to the Premier League . High-flyers Real Sociedad, in fact, were even interested in the forward until a few days ago, but the economic proposals made did not convince the Basque club. 2⃣0⃣2⃣3⃣🪄⚽️🔥 pic.twitter.com/n0SHyRQ7E7 — Gio Reyna (@GioAReyna10) December 17, 2023 What position does Gio Reyna play? Quick facts When is it? Every January 24th Tagged as Beer Food & Drink Items & Things Religion & Belief What's the hashtag? #PaulPitcherDay Have we missed something? Paul Pitcher Day is a highly spirited celebration that takes place every year. This day is dear to, and has deep roots in, the traditions of Cornwall, England. The occasion offers a fun blend of historical reverence and lively festivities. But Paul Pitcher Day is also one that invites all to engage in a fascinating tradition that celebrates one of the most remarkable events in Christian History – the Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul. History of Paul Pitcher Day Paul Pitcher Day might seem a little bit quirky in its observance. Still, it commemorates a pivotal moment in Christian History : the conversion of Saul, a Pharisee, into an apostle or disciple of Jesus Christ and eventually another metamorphosis into St. Paul, a leading Christian figure. This man’s transformation is ce

The discovery of a fossilized school of fish offers a remarkable snapshot in time, capturing an ancient moment in stunning detail and providing a unique glimpse into the prehistoric aquatic world

Image
The 50-million-year-old slab of limestone suggests that fish have been swimming in unison for far longer than previously realized The prehistoric school seems to adhere to the laws of attraction and repulsion, with members maintaining enough distance between neighbors without straying too far from the group Mizumoto et al. In 2016, Arizona State University biologist Nobuaki Mizumoto chanced upon an unusual fossil while exploring the collections of Japan’s Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum. Dated to around 50 million years ago, the limestone slab—originally discovered in the United States’ Green River Formation, an area now occupied by Colorado, Wyoming and Utah—appears to depict a school of fish frozen in the midst of migration. Although it’s difficult to confirm this theory, mainly because the fish existed in a three-dimensional environment and the fossil is inherently two-dimensional, a new study published in Proceedings of the Royal Society B offers a convincing argumen

Carlo Ancelotti’s press conference before Real Madrid’s LaLiga game against Almería

Image
The sea winds have been relatively calm since the storm at the Cívitas Metropolitano saw Real Madrid lose in another long and heated battle against Atlético Madrid. Ancelotti and his squad have come under fire , but not anything comparable to what could potentially have occurred had the stars aligned in other ways; common sense, it seems, has prevailed at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu as the side have licked their wounds and turned their heads to LaLiga and Europe. Bottom side Almería’s presence on the fixture list is perhaps another reason behind the somewhat extraordinary calm regarding Real Madrid’s Copa del Rey loss : the club that sit on Spain’s south coast have had a torrid time this season, picking up a mer e 6 points since the campaign began back in August. They look adrift, bobbing helplessly up and down on the waves, faces frozen as they contemplate what’s inevitable. “ It’s very important to play at home ”, Carlo opened with before giving his general assessment of how thin

The newly-discovered dinosaur belongs to Allosauridae, a group of small to large-bodied, two-legged carnivorous dinosaurs that lived during the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. Dubbed Allosaurus jimmadseni , the species inhabited the flood plains of western North America during the Jurassic period. The ancient creature was 8 to 9 m (26-29 feet) long and had a mass of around 1.8 metric tons. It had relatively long legs and tail, and long arms with three sharp claws. At 155 million years old, Allosaurus jimmadseni is the geologically-oldest species of Allosaurus predating the more well-known Allosaurus fragilis . The new species is distinguished by a number of unique features, including low crests ru

The fossil gathering project was led by the Aragosaurus-IUCA Group of the University of Zaragoza and the Portuguese NOVA University Lisbon, with 25 paleontologist and student participants from Spanish, Portuguese, and German institutions. This latest extraction work in September 2021 involved removal of one large nest, containing at least 12 eggs, conglomerated into a mass of rock that weighed over two tons. In 2020, the Ьɩoсk was protected with cellulose and plaster and reinforced with a metal structure to facilitate later removal. Sergio Reguilon leaves Tottenham after Man Utd recall

Brentford have signed Sergio Reguilon on loan from Tottenham Hotspur for the remainder of the 2023/24 season. Reguilon had spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Manchester United after their need to bring in cover at left-back emerged late in the summer transfer window, losing both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia to injury. Though the deal covered the entirety of the season, United opted to use a break clause in the deal earlier in January with Shaw and Malacia nearing returns to fitness. But with Reguilon not in Ange Postecoglou's plans at Spurs, he has departed on loan once again, joining London neighbours Brentford.
