Barcelona vs Sevilla: Live blog
It's now Sevilla's turn to scream for a penalty as Gavi blocks a shot on the goal line. Replays show that it was chest, not hand. Play on...
Boos and whistles from the Barcelona support as former Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos plucks the ball out of the air while under pressure. They don't forget!
Chance! Barcelona
Sight at goal for Jules Kounde as the Barcelona defender connects with the corner kick. He can't quite direct his header on target and Sevilla escape.
Pressure is building now.
More Barcelona appeals as Lewandowski gets a shove in the back in the penalty box! Once again the referee says no foul.
Barcelona win a corner kick, Gundogan to take.
Lightning fast counter-attack from Barcelona sees Raphinha played through on goal. He goes down under pressure from a recovering defender and referee says.... nothing!
No penalty for Barcelona.
Sergio Ramos plays a booming diagonal pass to the right wing, which Balde is forced to clear for a corner. Chance to deliver now for Sevilla.
Sevilla win a free kick after a clumsy foul from Raphinha and will take their time with the restart. The likes of Sergio Ramos and Ivan Rakitic really need to use some of their experience now, play their way into the Game.
So close! Barcelona
How did that not go in?! Brilliant play from Cancelo who charged forward into the box, playing in Joao Felix on the penalty box. The Portuguese forward fires for the top corner but his strike bounces back off the underside of the crossbar and clear of danger.
Barcelona really pushing now.
That flurry of chances has got the home fans off their seats and Barcelona are playing with real purpose now. Joao Felix is proving a real livewire on the left flank.
Close! Barcelona
And now it's Barcelona who go close with an incisive counter-attack! Joao Felix sprints down the left flank and curls in a low cross that just evades Lamine Yamal at the back post.
Things are heating up now!
Chance! Sevilla
Barcelona nearly gift the visitors a goal after losing the ball in the middle of their own half. Sevilla swiftly move the ball forward to Ivan Rakitic who lets fly from distance.
Ter Stegen makes a strong save to push the ball clear. A warning for the hosts, there.
Chance! Barcelona
Neat play from Barca to find Joao Felix in space on the edge of the box. The Atleti loanee takes the shot first time on his right foot but it's easily saved.
Sevilla already starting to take their time on the throw-ins, taking the sting out of the game.
Yamal wins a throw-in on the right for Barcelona and they look to build with Cancelo.
Both sides will probably be fairly happy with how the opening stages have gone. Barcelona have dominated the ball but Sevilla have prevented the from creating any real chances.
The trio of Sevilla central midfielders is having to work very hard to prevent the ball being played in to the feet of Robert Lewandowski. If they can keep that up, Barca will need to look to the wings to find a breakthrough.
Gundogan plays the corner short to Raphinha, who looks to dink the ball over the Sevilla defence. The visitor get the ball clear and win a throw-in midway through their own half.
It's been a confident start for Barcelona. Sevilla are sticking to their compact 4-2-3-1 shape in the early stages, trying to prevent Xavi's team from playing through the middle of the pitch.
The only space for Barca so far has been down the wings, when their wide players are able to get at the Sevilla defence.
Barcelona win a corner...
In the early stages it looks like Raphinha is starting in central midfield for the hosts. He looks to be playing alongside Gavi, with Gundogan playing as the holding midfielder.
Yamal is starting on the right, Felix on the left.
Close! Barca
Nearly an opening within the first minute as Joao Felix and Lamine Yamal combine down the left. The youngster gets to the byline and fires the ball across the six-yard box but no one is able to convert for the hosts.
Good start for Barca!
And we're off!
Sevilla get us underway in this LaLiga clash...
Kick-off is just around the corner now, both teams are out on the turf at Estadio Montjuic. Barcelona are in their classic red-and-blue stripes. Sevilla in white shirts and shorts, with black socks.
Barcelona youngster gets the nod against Sevilla
He may only be 16, but young Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal has already proved himself capable of comPeting at the highest level. He has already made his international debut and notched his first international goal; now, he's looking to nail down a place in the Barca starting XI.
Tonight he starts ahead of Ferran Torres in the Barcelona frontline. Xavi will hope that Yamal's direct running can unsettle a well-organised Sevilla defence. Not long to go until kick-off now.
Sevilla players put through their paces
There's just ten minutes to go until kick-off now and players are going through their final preparations for this LaLiga clash. Barcelona have the edge in terms of quality, but Sevilla have a number of experienced veterans with the no-how to frustrate even the best teams.
The visitors overcame the odds to clinch the Europa League title last season and will be confident of pulling off an upset tonight.
Lewandowski returns to Barcelona starting XI
The Polish striker was a transformative addition for Barcelona last season, firing Xavi Hernandez' side to their first LaLiga title without Lionel Messi for nearly two decades. Lewandowski is 35 years old but remains one of the world's best finishers; he returns to the team after featuring from the bench against Mallorca last weekend.
Familiar faces return
An away fixture against Barcelona is one of the toughest fixtures on the planet, but Sevilla have two players in their squad who are intimately acquainted with the Catalan club. Ivan Rakitic won a historic treble while playing for Barcelona in 2015, starring alongside current Barca head coach Xavi Hernandez.
Sergio Ramos, meanwhile, knows what it's like to come up against Barca. He spent 16 years with bitter rivals Real Madrid and played dozens of El Clasico fixtures against Barcelona.
Both veteran players will be desperate to prove their enduring quality tonight.

Kick-off nears at Estadio Montjuic!
It may not be Camp Nou, but Estadio Montjuic is starting to feel like home for Barcelona. We're expecting a sell-out crowd in attendance to watch Xavi Hernandez' men take on a Sevilla side who have underperformed so far this season.
Sevilla enjoyed an impressive turnaround last season to push themselves up the table and finish the campaign with yet another Europa League title. However they have struggled to kick on this season and are down in 12th as it stands.
Xavi Hernandez led his side to the LaLiga title last year thanks to their incredible defensive record. This season they have looked to play more on the front foot and Xavi has opted for a much more attacking set-up to take on Sevilla.
In addition to striker Robert Lewandowski, the trio of Lamine Yamal, Joao Felix and Raphinha are all in the Barca lineup. Yamal and Raphinha are expected to start on the wing, with Felix playing just behind Lewandowski. Will this gamble pay off for Barcelona, or do they risk being caught on the counter-attack?
And here's the Sevilla team...
Few surprised in the Sevilla team tonight, who will be hoping to build on the momentum from last weekend's 5-1 victory. Sergio Ramos faces old rivals Barcelona, while former Barca midfielder Ivan Rakitic returns to his former club.
